Transmission belts are one of the best means to transmit power between shafts that may not necessarily be parallel. These belts are flexible machinery parts used to link several rotating parallel shafts and are extensively used in various machine driven industries. It can either drive a pulley in one direction if the shafts are parallel or it can be crossed to reverse the direction of the shaft if it is not parallel. They are considered to be one of the cheapest utility for transmission of power. An open belt drive system is more preferable than a cross belt drive belt drive system as a cross belt drive system does not support all kinds of belts like timing belts or V belts.
