Transmission belts are one of the best means to transmit power between shafts that may not necessarily be parallel. These belts are flexible machinery parts used to link several rotating parallel shafts and are extensively used in various machine driven industries. It can either drive a pulley in one direction if the shafts are parallel or it can be crossed to reverse the direction of the shaft if it is not parallel. They are considered to be one of the cheapest utility for transmission of power. They are specially designed belts and pulleys which are used in large manufacturing industries like petroleum industries etc. It is basically used in a belt driven system and requires very little maintenance and runs smoothly without producing a too much noise. Belt driven system provide uninterrupted functioning of machines without making them overloaded.
